ROCKFORD (WREX) — Hurricane Harbor has a lot of exciting additions that visitors will find once it opens for the season on May 29.
According to Six Flags, the operator of Hurricane Harbor, it added more tropical-themed elements and a new ride called the Tidal Wave, which is the first and only tailspin waterslide in the Midwest.
Visitors can expect COVID-19 guidelines much like the 2020 season, including a temperature check and masks required in certain areas.
“We’re really excited. Last year was really fun,” Rachel Kendziora, Six Flags Great America Communications Specialist said. “We were so excited to be able to open last year. But we are extra excited to just be open for the summer.”
Visitors can also expect to make a reservation before attending Hurricane Harbor.
“It is breathtaking. Guests are going to be So excited,” Kendziora said. “We can’t wait to have guests on it. Like I said, it’s something that nobody has experienced in the Midwest before. So it is going to be a great way to splash into summer this year.”
